Out and About 

Year 12 Chemistry Excursion 

Term 3 started nice and early for this class of Chemistry students. Students woke up as early as 5.30am on the first day of term and travelled all the way to Victorian Space Science Education Centre (VSSEC) at Strathmore Secondary College for a chemistry workshop. 

Students tested the properties and functional groups of the biodiesel they made at our school laboratory. They worked individually during the workshop and got to use the various instruments such as GC-MS and Infrared Spectroscopy.

The spectrums they collected would be used in the learning of Unit 4 Area of Study 2. It was a very good learning experience for all.
