A message from the Principal

This week there has been a quiet new addition to our school - a SKiPPS 'community pantry'.

The community pantry is an idea floated by a parent earlier in the year as a way that we can all work together to support our whole school community.

The idea is that the pantry will contain non-perishable foods and household items. These are available for all families within the SKiPPS community to take free of charge at any time.

This idea has now become a reality and the pantry is located near the lost property, just off the quadrangle.

If families realise they have no dinner one night, we welcome them to take items from the pantry. If your children are hungry as you leave school, please take something from the pantry.

If at any time you would like to add food or household items to the pantry (perhaps you have bought some muesli bars that your children don't like or you have some food or household items to spare) then we would welcome these contributions.

All being well, the pantry will work to both support families AND reduce food waste.

Thanks to the parents who have worked to make this idea come to life. I think it fits beautifully with our school value of kindness.

We look forward to it hopefully being something that supports and is supported (and added to) by our school community.

Stay warm,

Neil Scott
