Moderation Day - Friday 6th June (student free day for Year 10, 11 and 12)

Friday 6 June is TASC Moderation Day. This is an important day dedicated to moderation meetings for the teachers of Years 11 and 12 subjects, ensuring consistency in assessments and standards across all Year 11 and 12 schools statewide. As a result, classes will be running as usual for our Year 7, 8 and 9 students. However, Year 10, 11, and 12 students will have the day off from school and are encouraged to use this time to study at home in preparation for their upcoming exams.

Mid Year Exams – Year 10, 11 and 12

Senior students, Year 10, 11 and 12 will be undertaking their Mid-year Exams later this month. The mid-year examinations are an important aspect of Senior School learning.  These examinations are vital in the preparation for the TASC end of year examinations as they enable students to learn study skills, time management skills and consolidate their learning, and reflect upon the areas which need to be further developed before the end of the year.

Year 10 Subject Advice / Pathways Planning Interviews

All Year 10 students and parents/guardians have been invited to make an appointment to attend a Year 10 Subject Advice / Pathway Planning interview.  These interviews provide an opportunity to discuss career options and possible pathways, give a more detailed and personalised explanation of the TCE and ATAR and how each student can optimise their subject choices, including TASC subject choices and VET opportunities at the College in Years 11 and 12.  These interviews will be occurring in weeks 6 to 8 of this term in the lead up to students selecting their subjects before the end of term.  You only need to book one appointment as each staff member involved covers the same information. Students will be selecting their subjects for next year in week 9 of this term. If you haven’t booked an appointment yet I encourage you to do so.

Year 11 Subject Advice / Pathways Planning Interviews

Year 11 students and parents/guardians have also been invited to make an appointment to attend a Year 11 Subject Advice / Pathway Planning interview, either with their child after school or for Year 11 students on their own during the school day.  These interviews are designed for Year 11 students who need some support and guidance to assist them with their subject selections for Year 12. Students will be selecting their subjects for next year in Week 9 of this term.
