FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to all the students who made their First Holy Communion last Thursday. Thank you to the families for the time and effort you have put into preparing your child to receive this most important of Sacraments.  Thanks also to the Year 4 teachers for the outstanding way they prepared the students for the Mass.  The students who sang in the School Sacramental choir which was overseen by Miss Carla Romeo, are to be commended for their time and talents.   I would also like to thank all the staff who attended the evening, this is a testament to the high importance St John’s School Community places on the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

WINTER INTERSCHOOL SPORTS

Last Wednesday our Year 5 & 6 students participated in the Winter Sports Gala.  The students are to be commended for the positive way they represented St John’s.  Our Volleyball Team walked to Tarneit Rise to compete in the day’s competition, with our AFL and Soccer Teams travelling to Galvin Park for their matches.  Our Netball Teams travelled by bus to the Altona Sports Stadium for their games.  Thank you to Mr Geisler for organising the day.

NATIONALLY CONSISTENT COLLECTION OF DATA (NCCD)

Every year schools complete the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). It counts the number of students who receive adjustments or “help” at school because of a disability. The NCCD helps the government and schools plan for the needs of students with a disability. For further information click on the link NCCD Information Sheet.

With the holidays fast approaching we think this article makes some very relevant points.

The article written by Online Safety Expert Michelle Manowski, helps parents to identify the warning signs of too much screen time.  Michelle unpacks the negatives of screen use on sleep and looks at the top 5 ways to reclaim sleep and restore focus.
