From the Deputy Principal
Create your impact!
Last week we shared with you the cornerstones of our strategic plan framework, our core strengths, which will guide the formation of strategic priorities now and in the future.
Through the continued cultivation of our core strengths, we will fully realise the hopes and aspirations for our students as they create a positive and lasting impact in their communities.
After consultation with our community during last year what quickly became apparent that GSG is very much of the place on which it stands, on Menang Noongar boodja in a unique coastal and regional setting. It is a very special place which we treasure as a place to educate our children. 'Place' is a key strength, shaping part of our strategic priorities. Most importantly, 'Place' is deeply connected to our children and community's experiences, memories and connection.
We represent this in our Strategic Plan like this:
Great Southern Grammar is an amazing place.
Through engaging learning experiences in our natural and built environments, we develop deep cultural competence and sustainable practices.
We are already making progress to make our plans reality. We have commenced preparations to refurbish the School Hall, by relocating our Drama teaching space and scoping new work which will result in a fresh, revitalised multi-purpose performance and meeting space.
This is just one small part of work towards refreshing the master plan for the school, which involves a campus revitalisation programme. In the longer term, keep an eye out for the design and delivery of new ECC outdoor learning spaces, maximising nature play and physical development.
In coming weeks we will share further areas of our strategic plan...it's an exciting time!
