Maths Moments

On Monday the 26th of May, we hosted a Family Maths Evening for students and families in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2.

Students were able to share their numeracy skills with their families by completing six engaging and challenging activities, such as geoboards, tangrams and estimating length using informal measurements.

It was fantastic to see our young learners with smiles on their faces eagerly take part in the activities, and to hear the different discussions regarding mathematics take place.

In total, a total of 134 families attended the Family Maths Evening. A shout out to Miss Dahiya and her class 00C who had the most families in attendance! A prize will be coming their way in the days to come. Individual prizes will be announced during the Term 2 Excellence Assembly taking place on Thursday the 26th of June, where several prizes will be drawn.

We will be hosting future Family Maths Evenings for the other two sub-schools in the upcoming terms! The next to come is the Years 7 to 9 Family Maths Evening which will take place on the Monday the 28th of July, which is in Week 2 of Term 3.

The activities showcased at the Family Math Evenings are designed so that families can replicate them at home, enabling our learners more opportunities to practise and grow their numeracy skills.

We look forward to seeing you in week 2 next term for our Years 7 to 9 Family Maths Evening event!
