Our Year 8 students will be the first cohort to use lockers and will lead the way for our students in Year 7 and 9 who will get access to lockers before the end of 2025.

Students have started to bring their own locks to school as of Tuesday 10th June, thank you to those that have already set themselves up for success!

Students are required to purchase their own rotary combination lock, and are responsible for remembering their combinations and ensuring locks are used appropriately.  If you're not sure where to get a lock for your child, please find two possible options below!

Expectations for Locker Routine:

Lockers are being implemented to prepare students for senior school, by practicing secondary school responsibilities, organisational skills and routines. Our local senior secondary schools have highlighted the importance of lockers in building essential skills such as responsibility, accountability and time management. We hope that by bringing in lockers at Truganina P9, students will leave our school better equipped with such skills when entering the senior school space.

What does a good one look like?

Tidy, organised, clutter free!

What might a not so good one look like?

Not so tidy and not so clutter free.

Students will only be able to access lockers during scheduled times and with the teacher's permission.

How the routine will work within those 10 minutes:

Students access lockers 1 row at a time

Eg.

1. Bottom Row

2. Top Row

3. Middle Row

Routine:

1. Students confirm what they need for their next block

2. Students in selected row go to their locker as instructed

3. Unlock their locks

4. Get their learning materials/put away materials and acquire food.

5. Lock their locks

6. Return to their seats and follow the teachers next instruction

Students are expected to demonstrate all the College Values while using the lockers. They must be well maintained, clean and organised. Students are to take full responsibility over their locker and familiarise themselves with the expected locker routine.
