Significant Dates and Events

This week was Education Week. This is a good chance to acknowledge our teachers who deliver engaging and meaningful lessons, and our ES staff who work to support our students. This is the essence of our core business every day in the school!

Next week has some culturally significant events coming up. Starting with National Sorry Day on Monday 26th May, this day provides the opportunity for people to come together and share the journey towards healing for the Stolen Generations, their families and communities. Then Reconciliation Week follows (May 27-June 3) as a time to acknowledge and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture, and achievements.

Attitude to School Survey

Families were sent an email via Compass on Tuesday about this annual student survey. This survey gives the students an opportunity to have their say on a range of topics, which provides some useful data for the school. The data helps shape our goals and areas to work on in the future.

The email contained an attached letter from the Department with more details about the survey. Important to note, this survey is not compulsory. If you would prefer that your child does not participate, you will need to email the school by Friday 30th May, so we can withdraw them from the survey.

ZAP! BAM! POW!

Congratulations to Erin Angelini and her Middle School Drama class for their performance on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Performing in front of a live audience each night, they pulled together to put on their show. The show explored what it is to be a hero, while giving audience members some big questions to think about. Entertaining, witty, contemporary and insightful; all cast and crew should be very proud of their skills, energy, courage and commitment.

Thanks to all the people who worked in the background, to help make the evening run more smoothly for the students.
