Grade 4 News

Well done to everyone who took part in Friday’s school fun run.
It was a fun-filled day with plenty of energy, great sportsmanship, and a chance to be active.
Congratulations also to those who qualified for Zone Cross Country!
We've had another engaging and productive two weeks in the classroom.
In Literacy we’ve recently wrapped up our class novel ‘Uncle Xbox’, which was an absolute hit with the students, the only negative being that it ended too quickly.
Alongside this, students have been writing detailed factual recounts about the First Fleet, showcasing their growing note taking and writing skills.
This week, we’re excited to begin a new text – The Arrival by Shaun Tan – a beautifully illustrated novel that will lead us into exploring narrative writing in more depth.
In Mathematics, we’ve been delving into the world of 2D shapes.
The students have been investigating the properties of both simple and composite shapes, as well as exploring the concept of symmetry through hands-on activities and visual problem-solving.
It’s been heartening to see so many keen readers bringing in their Reading Logs – your support at home really makes a difference. Keep up the great work!
Finally, we warmly invite you to join us for our Pentecost Liturgy in Week 8, taking place on Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:00pm in the school chapel.
