Grade 2 News

Congratulations to Grade 2 Clarke for winning the Bernie Trophy this week.
Well done to our award winners.
On Thursday, we went on our excursion to St. Pats Church where we met with
Father Nathan and we had the opportunity to ask questions about his career and the church itself.
We learnt lots of valuable information in particular about the process of Baptism which is our next unit of learning.
We then went on a walk through the town, looking at the location of key buildings (Woolworths, the doctors, pharmacies).
We discussed the location of these and the importance of them being easily accessible for all.
We stopped at King George Gardens and discussed the man-made garden that has been around for a long time and the connection to an English garden.
We continued our walk over to Apex Park where we stopped at the beginning of the Bullahwah Trail, and discussed the key features of the park itself.
Students were prompted to wonder about the similarities and differences between the two parks, as well as people's connections to them.
It was a glorious, sunny day and we all had a great time getting out and about.
