Message From Our Principal
Mrs Jackie Stockdale
The past two weeks have been a vibrant tapestry of learning, creativity, and connection within our school community. We proudly participated in Education Week 2025, embracing the theme "Celebration of Cultures." Our Open Day and Information Night were resounding successes. Additionally, we joined the nationwide celebration of National Simultaneous Storytime, and National Volunteer Week. These events have not only enriched our students' educational experiences but have also strengthened the bonds within our school community. We extend our gratitude to all staff, students, and families who contributed to making these past two weeks truly memorable.
What a day we’ve had at the Campaspe Lawn Bowls tournament!!! Team 1 were part of an all Tongala Grand Final play off with 3 teams from Tongala Primary. In a thrilling game, we won our Grand Final and will progress to the next level along with Tongala Primary!
We were thrilled to see such a strong turnout at our recent Open Day and Information Night! It was wonderful to welcome so many prospective families into our school community. These events provided an excellent opportunity for visitors to explore our facilities, meet our dedicated staff, and experience the vibrant learning environment we offer. We appreciate everyone who attended and contributed to the success of these events. Their engagement and interest in our school are truly valued.
On Wednesday, we joined over 2 million children across Australia and beyond in celebrating the 25th annual National Simultaneous Storytime! We read The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell—a heartwarming tale of belonging, identity, and unexpected friendship .
The story follows Tinka, a curious cat, and Yacoub, a migrant truck driver, as they navigate life in a new country. Their journey, filled with challenges and discoveries, beautifully highlights themes of immigration, identity, and kindness .
A huge thank you to the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) for organising this incredible event, and to all our students, teachers, and families who participated. It's moments like these that remind us of the power of storytelling to connect and inspire.
During the week we joined the nation in celebrating National Volunteer Week 2025, themed "Connecting Communities". It's a time to recognise the invaluable contributions of volunteers who strengthen the bonds within our communities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Alex, who generously volunteers in our school library every week. Alex's unwavering commitment and passion for fostering a love of reading have made a lasting impact on our students and staff. Through her dedication, she embodies the spirit of connection and community that this week celebrates.
Thank you, Alex, for being an essential part of our school family and for helping to build a more connected and enriched learning environment.
On Friday, 9 May, our school community came together for the Wonderful Women’s Breakfast, a special event honoring the incredible women who support and inspire our students every day. Mothers, grandmothers, carers, and special friends gathered in the early morning to share a delicious breakfast and meaningful conversations.
The atmosphere was filled with warmth and gratitude as students expressed their appreciation through heartfelt messages and performances. It was a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the vital role these women play in nurturing and guiding our young learners.
A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable morning. Your presence made the event truly special, and we are grateful for the love and support you provide to our school community.

To help prevent the spread of illness within our school community, we kindly remind parents and carers that if your child experiences vomiting or diarrhoea, they should remain at home and not attend school for at least 48 hours after the last episode. This guideline is in line with health recommendations to ensure that children are no longer contagious before returning to school.
Adhering to this 48-hour exclusion period is crucial in minimising the risk of outbreaks and maintaining a healthy environment for all students and staff. We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to the well-being of our school community.
For more information on preventing the spread of gastroenteritis, please visit Healthdirect Australia.
To focus on the positive we will acknowledge students with excellent attendance at the end of the term!!
