News from Foundation
Wow! Weeks 3 and 4 have flown by! It has been so wonderful to see how resilient the kids were during Swimming and Sports days and the many changes that we have had! They have definitely earned their four-day weekend!!
Swimming
It was wonderful to see how excited the kids were about swimming. In just over two weeks, their skills have improved immensely, and they did such an amazing job!
Poor Eddie broke his wrist, so he enjoyed watching his friends and doing some activities at the pool!
Writing
This week, we focused on learning the sounds 'aw' and 'wh' in writing. Here are some of our pieces using those sounds! Check out See-Saw to see more!
Maths
Last week in maths, we learned about Location and, in particular, Location vocabulary such as forward, backward, next to, left, and right. We have been using these little robots to set out a sequence of steps using the vocabulary! The Foundations have been loving this hands-on learning!
This week, we are starting to learn about ordinal numbers in math! To begin, we connected the number names with the ordinal numbers, such as 1-1st, 2-2nd, 3-3rd, and so forth! We started by ordering the numbers 1-14 and talked about the names of our ordinal numbers.
F/1/2 Inquiry
This Term in Inquiry, the F/1/2 Students have been learning about animals. Last Friday, we learnt about animal habitats. We searched around the school for animal habitats and drew and wrote what we saw! We found bird nests, wombat holes, ant nests, an old wasp nest and more! We are excited to keep learning more about animals and invite our parents and carers to come to our inquiry showcase at the end of the term! SAVE THE DATE- December 13th in the afternoon- more information to come!!
