CELEBRATING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE@CSPS

Foundation News

We have certainly had a sizzling hot start to our first term in Foundation!

Despite the heat the children have been doing an amazing job. Every day is new, exciting and very busy, making new friends, developing social and emotional skills, understanding our school routines, lining up, carpet times and eating times. They have already started learning letter sounds which they will use when they begin to segment and blend words for reading later this term, and have also begun to explore number concepts. Highlights so far this term have been meeting our specialist teachers and finding out about their programs (Art, PE, Social Wellbeing and STEM.

Year 1 to Year 6

Setting the Climate

All classes have been participating in "Setting the Climate" activities in their classrooms.  These activities are:

  • To establish clear and high expectations through CSPS expected behaviours.
  • To foster an inclusive education promoting connectedness and engagement with learning.
  • To ensure our school vision and values are embedded in everyday practices and interactions.
  • To provide a safe and supportive environment that celebrates diversity and acknowledging the right of every child.
  • To ensure students have the tools and skills to develop positive and self-regulating behaviours, enhancing students' resilience, optimism, confidence, social and emotional skills

Many of these activities have been fun and engaging and will set up the school community for a great year!
