In another edition of 'Lok Lok Sporting Stars', Mr M sat down with cricket young gun Archer Hansford! Archer has begun his cricket journey at the Barrabool Bulls Cricket Club and is certainly a future star of the game.

 

Mr M: Thanks for coming on, Archer!

Archer: That's okay, Mr M

Mr M: Tell us about your cricket Archer. Where do you play?

Archer: I play at Barrabool

Mr M: What do you like about cricket Archer?

Archer: I like playing 'rapid fire' and I like to run around with my friends.

Mr M: Do you play in a team or do you do blasters cricket?

Archer: I do blasters cricket

Mr M: Do you like batting or bowling more?

Archer: I like batting because I like hitting the ball hard

Mr M: What else do you like about cricket?

Archer: I like fielding and catching the ball. I also like sliding on the ground to field the ball.

Mr M: Do you think you'll play cricket for Australia one day?

Archer: Yes, I'd love to be a batter!

Mr M: Who else from Ceres do you think is a great cricketer?

Archer: Harvey because he's good at batting

Mr M: What is the most challenging thing about cricket?

Archer: Fielding can be tricky but I still like the challenge

Mr M: What's your favourite cricket bat?

Archer: Kookaburra

Mr M: Good answer, that's what I use as well! Thanks for joining us Arch, good luck this cricket season!

Week 5 and 6 Update

Welcome to this Week 5 and 6 edition of "Press from the Pouch!" As we pass the halfway point of Term 4, it’s a great time to celebrate all the hard work and fantastic progress everyone has made. With plenty of sunshine and excitement around, our Kanyul community is thriving, and we’re thrilled to spotlight some inspiring achievements and stories. We’ve had some great events recently, and there’s more on the way—so let’s keep the momentum going!

This edition, we're shining the spotlight on two young Kanyul stars who share more than just team pride. Let’s meet these talented sisters:

Meet Maddi T: Kanyul Kangaroo Standout

Year Level: Grade 4 (3/4 J)

Favourite Colours: Orange and Green

Favourite Subjects: STEM and MARC

Favourite Olympic Sport: Swimming

Funniest Teachers: Mr. M and Mr. James—they’re like two big gorillas who sing to each other!

Favourite Activities Outside School: Playing with friends, exploring Roblox, and creating things with polymer clay.

Bucket Fill Shoutout: Charlie C for always bringing the laughs and brightening everyone’s day.

What She Loves About Kanyul: I love Kanyul because some of my friends are there.

A reminder that students can wear their house iron on patches on their school polos. These can be ironed onto students' polos, underneath the Ceres logo. It's great to see some students already wearing theirs!
