Please note, bookings for these celebrations will not open until early Term 1, 2025.
All Saints Day
All Saints Day is celebrated every year on 1st November. It is a holy day in the Catholic Church when we remember all of the saints of the church such as St Peter, St Francis and St Mary of the Cross, as well as those saints who have not yet been recognised. On this day we pray for all saints and thank God for the lives they have lived and the example they provide for us.
This feast day has a rich history, which dates back to the fourth century. In mediaeval England, All Saints’ Day was known as All Hallows Day (the word hallow means “holy”). The night before this special feast was referred to as All Hallows Eve, which is where the name Halloween comes from (‘Holy Eve’)!
As we reflect on the wonderful things that the saints in our Church have done at this time, we are also reminded that we are called to be saints like these special people.
You might like to discuss as a family some saints that you know.
What makes them so special?
Is there someone in your lives that you regard as a saint or someone who has saint-like qualities?
All Saint’s Day celebrations:
On Friday 1st November, our Year 4 to Year 6 students will celebrate this feast day with Mass at 12pm in our Sacred Space.
Our Foundation to Year 3 students, will celebrate with a liturgy within their homegroup throughout the day.
