This week, our Foundation students had a special visit from local firefighters who taught us all about fire safety! They explained the difference between good fires, like campfires and barbecues, and bad fires, which can be dangerous. The firefighters also discussed what to do if there's a fire, such as finding a safe place where people can easily see and find you.
The students learned important tips, like never hiding during a fire and always staying calm. To top it off, we have a very exciting visit from a fire truck coming next Monday, and everyone is buzzing with excitement to see it up close!
In Literacy, our young learners have been expanding their knowledge by exploring digraphs! A digraph is when two letters come together to make one sound, and our students have been busy learning all the different digraphs. With this new understanding, they are becoming stronger readers and writers, recognising these sounds in words and using them in their writing. We are so proud of their progress!
