SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS
Track and Field Peninsula Team 13-19 Years:
Congratulations to Piper, Quinn, Aria, Ava, and Eloise, who all represented St Mary's exceptionally well and competed to high standards at the recent QRSS 13-19 years track and field championships.
Piper was the Peninsula Track and Field captain and finished the year as the QRSS 17 Years 400m/800m Champion, winning both events convincingly. She is the 2024 Recipient of the Ned Burrows Trophy. Piper won the 400m by 2 seconds and the 800m by 5 seconds. She has made an everlasting impression on the Peninsula track and field team (she was captain from 2017 to 2024), demonstrating great sportsmanship throughout her time on the team.
Aria posted a new Personal Best in the 400m final as well.
Netball:
St Mary's Junior girls' netball team played a friendly match against the Singapore Netball Academy, winning 11-5. We were surrounded by a big turnout of students supporting and cheering, making the atmosphere energetic. A huge thank you to the Singapore team for joining us—it was an incredible experience hosting an international team. Well done to everyone involved.
Sports Tours Strength and Conditioning Program:
St Mary's Sports Tour teams for 2025 started their strength and conditioning program this week. We saw over 30 students for the first week at the upgraded oval gym.
Thank you to our Trade Training Centre students and staff for working hard over the last three months to complete the project. The gym will significantly benefit our College and sports programs.
