YEAR 10

Year 10 Key Information

  • During Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Year 10 students engaged in reflective activities focusing on their Term 3 report card results and participated in goal-setting exercises this week. These activities were designed to encourage self-assessment and personal growth, helping students identify areas for improvement. Additionally, this process aims to equip students with strategies to transition smoothly into Year 11. By building these skills now, students will be better prepared to manage the increased expectations and demands of senior schooling, minimising any potential challenges or surprises.

  • On Tuesday, Year 10, VET students will attend the Trade Training Centre for their interviews with VPG for work placement in 2025.  Here are a few points for students and parents to be aware of:

    • Students are to bring an up-to-date resume with them to the interview.
    • Students are to wear their formal school uniform.
    • If the interview time clashes with afternoon sports, the students will stay in the Trade Training Centre until school finishes.
    • Students and Parents are respectfully asked not to contact VPG regarding work placement. Please ensure all communication is through the Trade Training Centre.

Whole of College Key Information

  • Best of luck to the Year 12 students commencing their external exams over the next three weeks. We know their hard work and dedication over the past two years of senior schooling will pay dividends. All students in years 7-11 must remain away from the Hugh O'Brien Center (HOB) over this period to avoid disturbing the Year 12 students.

  • Next week, we will recognise all staff members and their dedication to education at St Mary's with World Teacher's Day celebrations! This is a special day to pay tribute to the continued hard work staff at St. Mary's does to support our school community.

  • Our upcoming Awards Evening is set to occur in Week 7, Monday, November 11. Families and students will be notified shortly regarding their attendance at the event as award recipients. We encourage students to ensure they wear their best St Mary's formal uniform and polish their shoes for this important college event. We look forward to celebrating the achievements of students at St Mary's!
