YEAR 7 

Year 7 Key Information:

• Last week’s assembly presented many ‘Principals Awards’ to Year 7 students. This achievement identifies students who have achieved 16 merits throughout the year (4 merits = Head of Year Certificate, 4 Head of Year Certificates = Principals Award). Congratulations to all award winners. It is a testament to the dedication and character of our students, who have been recognised with merits for embodying the guiding principles of the College—Dignity, Empathy, Dialogue, Community, and Perseverance. 
   
• During this week's SEL (Social Emotional Learning), students will reflect on their Term 3 report cards.  This process allows students to identify areas requiring improvement and, with their Pastoral Mentor's guidance, set goals for the term ahead. Please take the time to speak with your child about their goals and identify strategies for home that can best support their achievement of these goals.

Whole of College Key Information

• Students are currently engaged in learning across all their classes and will begin formative and summative assessment pieces over the coming weeks. We encourage parents/carers to print a copy of the assessment planner and place it in a central location for review to ensure deadlines for drafts and finals are met. 
   
• We encourage parents/carers to reach out to classroom teachers for support and questions regarding their child's engagement in learning should it be necessary. All teacher email addresses can be found on the college website. 
   
• Good luck to Year 11 students with their final exams next week. We hope the hard work and dedication to your studies pay off. 
   
• This is a reminder that parents/carers must notify the college should their child be absent. This can be completed on the MyCE App, parent portal, or by phone or email to the college office. Attendance above 90% demonstrates positive engagement in learning that will set your child up for success.
