Drawing inspiration from Green Island

Years 11 and 12 Visual Art students recently attended their stimulus excursion to Green Island. It was made possible by funding from the Queensland government's Great Barrier Reef Education Experience program,  which provides a $40 rebate for each student who participated in the activity.

Our gentlemen had the chance to learn from marine biologist Bekki while snorkeling and exploring the island, and from Indigenous guide Jaiden during our cultural tour. Most students have already started thinking about possible ideas for their next body of work and we are excited to see what they produce.

Art and artifacts of ancient cultures

We are very proud our our Visual Art students who have been working hard on an variety of projects.

Year 9 gents have completed their ceramics inspired by their excursion to the aquarium. It is wonderful to witness the diverse outcomes which are as unique as the students themselves. They are currently using a range of paint techniques on their skateboards, inspired by art and artifacts of ancient cultures.
