Music Matters

It brings me great joy to see our young musicians perform for their parents and peers at our Performing Arts Festival recitals. These evenings are a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase the progress they have made throughout the year, both in terms of technical skill and musical development. It is heart-warming to witness the support and encouragement from their families and friends, creating an atmosphere of celebration and pride.

A very special thank you to Mr Stephen Cummins, our Private Tuition Coordinator, for his tireless efforts in organising and facilitating this event. Additionally, we extend our deepest gratitude to our talented and dedicated private tutors, whose hard work and expertise play such an important role in nurturing and inspiring our students. Without their commitment, these performances would not be possible.

Piano: Ms Stephanie Gan and Mr Matt Thomson

Brass: Mr Geoff Power, Mr Benjamin Blunt and Mr David Sismey

Strings and Classical Guitar: Mrs Stella Talati

Guitar: Mr Shane Cranney

Bass Guitar: Mr Stephen Cummins

Woodwind: Miss Laura Power and Mr Tony Wheeler

Percussion: Mr Pawel Lewandowski and Mr Ian Talati

Thank you for your continued support in fostering a love of music and the arts within our community!

For the remaining recitals please note that entry will be via the main foyer on Anderson Street, or the Kirk Street gates for parking. The only after-school supervision available to students on campus is in the Senior Resource Centre (library). Boys are asked to wear their summer uniform, although sports uniform is possible for Junior School students on Thursday if they are not returning home first.

Instrumental hire: Students who have hired instruments from the College for private home practice are asked to return them to the Performing Arts office by the end of Week 7. Should your son require his instrument for a school performance after this time, he is asked to bring it to the Music Office afterwards.
