Principal's News

I want to acknowledge the outstanding work of our staff in preparing for the school year. Their dedication means that our students have the best start possible.
At Sacred Heart, we want to instil a love of learning and school right from the outset. The first few weeks of the year are all about ensuring students feel happy, comfortable, and excited about their new environment. We focus on building strong relationships between students, teachers, and peers to create a welcoming and supportive school culture.
We recognise that a successful school experience is built on strong partnerships between home and school. We are committed to working closely with families, ensuring they feel connected and valued as part of our school community. Open communication, collaboration, and involvement in school are key to fostering a sense of belonging for everyone.
Know that I am always happy to assist with any queries, concerns and ideas or to be a listening ear. You are always welcome to contact me by phone at school or call in for a chat. Please refer to the cover page of the newsletter for contact details or ring the office to check my diary.
Our first school assembly will be held this Friday 7 at 9 am in the school's Multi-purpose room and will be held fortnightly thereafter. Parents and carers are welcome to attend these assemblies as we acknowledge outstanding achievements and showcase classroom learning.
School Closure Days 2025
Student-free days are special days when students do not come to school, but teachers and staff use the time for important training, planning, and school improvement activities.
Each year, all Catholic schools will have a student-free day on the first day of Term 1 and the last day of Term 4. Schools are also allowed up to six student-free days throughout the year for staff professional development and planning.
In rare cases, extra student-free days may be approved by the Catholic Education Office in Ballarat if needed.
These days help our teachers continue learning and improving, so they can provide the best education for your children. We will always inform families well in advance when student-free days are scheduled.
