Important Updates

 

With the QGSSSA Swimming Championships just around the corner, we’re focused on keeping our swimmers fresh and ready to perform at their best.

 

This Week

 

To prioritise health and recovery, we will not be attending this week’s QGSSSA Swimming Lead-Up at St Peter’s. Instead, our focus will shift to rest and preparation ahead of the championships.

 

Pre-Championships Relay Session and Team BBQ

  • Date: Saturday 1 March
  • Time: 3:30pm to 5:00pm
  • Venue: Nudgee College

Relays play a significant role in accruing points, so it’s vital that all swimmers attend. Let's perfect our changeovers and enjoy some team bonding over a BBQ!

  • Tuesday 4 March: 6:15am to 7:15am
  • Tuesday Team Breakfast: 7:30am to 8:15am
  • Wednesday 5 March: It’s GO TIME at the QGSSSA Swimming Championships.

The team list and event schedule will be posted on the Sports Notice Board by lunchtime on Thursday 27 February.

Student Spectators

 

Students in Years 7 to 12 are encouraged to attend as spectators.

  • Date: Wednesday 5 March
  • Venue: Brisbane Aquatic Centre, Sleeman Sports Complex
  • Time: 3:15pm to 9:00pm
  • Bring: Food and a water bottle in a small bag (Kiosk facilities will be available)
  • Do not bring: iPods or equivalent (you are attending to support the Swimming team)
  • Uniform: Summer uniform (including hats – boys and girls)

Please refer to the College App for the bus sign-on and additional information. Get ready to make a splash as we approach the final key dates for the 2025 QGSSSA Swimming Championships. With each stroke and every kick, our team is gearing up to showcase their prowess in the pool.

Primary Sport

Britton Shield Swimming

 

On Friday, our Primary boys will dive into the highly anticipated Britton Shield Swimming competition at Brisbane Boys’ College. It’s the first major event of the year, promising an exciting day of competition.

  • Date: Friday 28 February
  • Arrival Time: 8:30am
  • Warm Up Time: 9:00am
  • Competition: 9:30am to 12:30pm (Please note that times are subject to change)

We’d love to see as many supporters as possible - bring your sun protection, find a spot on the hill, and cheer on our swimmers as they take to the pool.

 

Students can return on the bus or be collected directly from Brisbane Boys’ College. If picking up your child, please sign them out with a teacher before leaving.

 

Swimmers Make a Splash at Final Metro Meet

 

On Saturday afternoon, our Andrews Cup and Britton Shield swimmers hit the water at Moreton Bay College for their final metro meet ahead of the upcoming competitions. The event provided a valuable opportunity for swimmers to fine-tune their technique, gain race experience, and secure selection times for the competitions ahead.

 

With the Britton Shield competition set for Friday 28 March, and the Andrews Cup on Monday 10 March, our swimmers are primed and ready to showcase their preparation and hours of training.
