Troy's learning news

SA Curriculum
In this newsletter, I will discuss the SA Curriculum, which was released partway through 2024.
This curriculum has been designed by the Department for Education based on "Our Strategy for Education," which incorporates the four areas of impact. The new curriculum is based on version 9 of the Australian Curriculum but focuses on developing our learners for the 21st century.
The main difference between the Australian Curriculum and the SA Curriculum is that the Australian Curriculum primarily focuses on developing student knowledge. The SA Curriculum maintains this focus but also incorporates learner dispositions, capabilities, and knowledge.
This year, Uraidla Primary School is incorporating the mathematics component of the curriculum to develop students' capabilities in problem-solving, understanding, reasoning, fluency, and flexibility, as well as the dispositions of being resilient, resourceful, and reflective.
Our staff are currently working with Sarah Centofanti, our Strategic Leader for Mathematics.
In the future, we look forward to running some potential parent workshops.
