2024 HIGH ACHIEVERS

During our whole school assembly we welcomed back our High Achievers of 2024 who attained an ATAR or 90+.

They enjoyed a morning tea with thier parents and our teachers and caught up with each other discussing there next steps.

We are extremely proud of our High Achievers and can't wait to see where their future endeavours lead them.

NADINE DIA - YEAR 12 REFLECTION

Initially, the prospect of year 12 was quite daunting for me, as it is for many students. I felt an inordinate amount of pressure to get the ATAR I wanted for my course, and I spent time worrying that I wouldn’t be able to achieve it. Like all people, seeking out happiness is always at the forefront of my mind, so I quickly realised that my attitude towards my studies had to change to achieve that. It was imperative for me to remind myself that my worth is inherent, and that no single achievement could bring me joy, not even my ATAR. Rather, I could find joy by consistently acknowledging and celebrating my progress. Every achievement, big or small, began to feel more meaningful as I took on this outlook on life. I became more confident and forgiving, which I believe aided me to excel.

One of the subjects I enjoyed most was Media because it enabled me to essentially pursue a ‘passion project’ alongside my core academic subjects. I created a Zine where I interviewed Australian musicians whom I really admire, pushing me to actualise my dream of doing music journalism.

I will be starting a Bachelor of Arts at The University of Melbourne this year, majoring in Media and Communications and hope to work in music journalism in the future.
