A Night of Celebration

It was a great night last Friday when our Year 5 parents/carers came together for a cocktail party at Scientia to welcome them to the College. Parents/carers got to meet new friends and mix with the Year 5 staff and College Leadership Team. There was a real sense of community. Some of our Year 5 students have come from very small schools which can be quite daunting not only for them but also for their parents/carers. In true SPC fashion they were welcomed with open arms and were made to feel part of this amazing community.

The night would not have been a success without the amazing work of our P&F who put the whole function together. We have such a dedicated P&F committee, led by Mrs Elena Ierardo. They are at every event making sure that everyone feels welcome. We cannot thank them enough as they foster our Touchstone for the year; “Inclusive Community.’

Year 11 Soirée

On Monday night, I had the pleasure of being entertained by our Year 11 Music 1 and Music 2 students at their Soiree in the Duffy Centre. We are so blessed to have so many talented young men here at the College. There was a vast array of instruments including the alto saxophone, trumpet, electric guitar, drums and the piano. What was so great to see was that some of the students accompanied each other, so they had to play a number of pieces to support each other.

The comradery amongst this class was evident for all to see. Congratulations to Isaac, Zachary, Noah, Vaughn, Markus, Adrian, Matthew, Denzel and Christopher. Your talent is second to none. Having seen Christiopher play three pieces during the night on the piano, was a privilege. His hands moved so effortlessly across the keys like a true craftsman. Thankyou also to the music teachers Mr Freere, Ms Ovijach, Ms De Francesco and Ms Duff, thank you for all that you do to support our young men. Thank you also to our parents/carers who have fostered this love of music in their sons.
