News and Information from Primary
In 2025, our Primary Wellbeing Team has reimagined what has traditionally been known as the 'Cool Down' area. Since the beginning of this year, students, staff and the DCS community have been introduced to the newly established Shiloh Wellbeing Centre, affectionately referred to as 'Shiloh'.
The essence of the Shiloh Wellbeing Centre lies in providing a safe, secure and peaceful environment for students, staff and the wider DCS community. The name 'Shiloh' was chosen for its Hebrew and biblical connections, symbolising a place of peace and rest.
When students visit the centre, they engage in a structured process: beginning with time for self-regulation, followed by intentional and guided conversations with staff, and concluding with an opportunity for prayer before returning to class. At its heart, Shiloh aims to nurture relationships, promote emotional growth and support students throughout their educational journey.
The Shiloh space has been meticulously designed with various areas tailored to support our students in diverse ways. Here's a glimpse of what it offers:
Special thanks to Mrs Anna De Haan, Mrs Jess Bellchambers, Mrs Lisa Burke and all our Learning Assistants for their dedicated efforts and heartfelt commitment to developing a space that will enrich our community for years to come.
Year 1/2 Student Support
At DCS we have an exceptional team who are here to support our students and partner with each of our families. This week we are introducing you to our Year 1/2 student support team and their team leader Mrs Jessica Bellchambers, who works to support our Kinders through to Year 1/2. Enjoy finding out a bit more about them.
