What an amazing start to the school year we have had! It has been such a joy to welcome your children into our classrooms and see them settle into their new learning environment with enthusiasm and curiosity.

Setting Up for Success

To ensure a smooth transition into school life, we have been focusing on our Setting Up for Success program. This program helps students learn about our school values, classroom expectations, and daily routines. Through activities, stories, and discussions, the children are developing an understanding of how to be respectful, responsible, and ready to learn. They are already demonstrating great independence and confidence in following our routines, and we are so proud of their efforts!

A Safe and Inclusive Learning Environment

We strive to create an inclusive and welcoming classroom where every child feels valued, safe, and supported. The Prep Team works hard to create a  culture that is built on kindness, respect, and a strong sense of belonging. We celebrate differences, encourage positive social interactions, and help students develop friendships that make school a happy place to be.

Getting to Know Our Classmates

Building strong relationships is a key focus in these early weeks. We have been playing name games and listening to ‘Me in a Bag’ presentations, where we share information about ourselves to get to know one another better. It has been wonderful to see new friendships forming and to witness the joy of children discovering common interests with their classmates.

Cyber Safety Project

In Week 3, the Prep students visited the Cyber Safety Project incursion. The students learnt how to be safe online and to share with an adult when something doesn’t feel right. They practised the skill of thinking about their feelings, recognising their early warning signs and knowing when to S.T.O.P and seek help.
