School Saving Bonus
Dear Parents and Carers,
In Term 4, 2024, families with a child enrolled in a government school from Prep to Year 12 in 2025 received the one-off $400 School Saving Bonus. Families who enrolled in January and February 2025 will receive their School Saving Bonus in the coming weeks.
The $400 School Saving Bonus provides families with support for education-related costs, such as school activities and/or school uniforms and textbooks.
The School Saving Bonus is not available for full-fee international students, home schooled students, TAFE students and students attending kindergarten in 2025.
Actions for Parents and Carers
To access the SSB portal log into https://www.schoolsavingbonus.vic.gov.au/s/ using your unique voucher code and Adult A email address, and nominate how you would like to use your SSB.
The bonus can be used towards 2025 school costs, which may include:
camps, trips, excursions and incursions
swimming and sporting programs
outdoor education programs
graduations
school uniforms
textbooks.
The bonus can be used at your school’s approved textbook or uniform suppliers either in-store or online, or through State Schools’ Relief. Any amount that you choose to allocate to textbooks and uniforms will be valid until 30 June 2025. It will then transfer to your child’s school account for future activities.
Families can now elect to donate the SSB back to the school. This can be done by emailing oatlandsps.ps@education.vic.gov.au notifying the school in writing the amount you wish to donate. In the SSB portal families select School Activities in the SSB online system for the value they wish to donate.

NAPLAN
The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 students are held each year.
In 2025, the NAPLAN Online test window is between Wednesday March 12th and Monday March 24th. NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy.
The results of the tests provide information for students, parents, teachers and principals and can be used to improve student achievement.

Valuable/Sentimental Items
Oatlands PS is not responsible for valuable or sentimental items that children may wish to bring to school from home. It is our strong preference that students are not to bring valuable or sentimental items to school.
Personal Insurance
Oatlands PS recommends that parents and/or guardians take out personal insurance (e.g. chipped tooth, etc) for their children. Oatlands PS or the Department of Education do not have personal insurance for children, this is the responsibility of parents/guardians.

Individual & Class Photos - Wednesday 19th March 2025
Sibling Photos - Thursday 20th March 2025.

Please be aware, as part of our policy under the School Community (External Public Use) section, only students first name will be displayed on the 'class' photo.
Please read the attachments to start ordering your photos now, the Oatlands unique code can be found on the compass newsfeed.
If you wish to pay by cash, the envelopes can be collected from the office. These envelopes should be return no later than photo day.
YOU WILL HAVE 7 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF PHOTOGRAPHY TO PLACE YOUR ORDER BEFORE LATE ORDER FEES WILL BE APPLIED.
