House Athletics

After some delays due to weather and clashes with District Sports, the Year 3-6 students ventured down to GR Bricker Reserve on Friday 5th September for our annual House Athletics Carnival.

We were greeted with perfect conditions for athletics and students ran, jumped and threw with grace and athleticism.

A big thank you to our teachers and ES staff who assisted on the day, marshalling the students, measuring and timing events.

Points were awarded as follows, 3 points for 1st place, 2 points for 2nd place and 1 point for 3rd place

Results from the day.

Red - 141

Yellow - 105

Blue -  103

Green -  71

Congratulations to Cullen (Red House) on taking out the 2025 House Athletics competition

District Athletics

On Monday 15th September, a team of 53 students represented CPS at the 2025 Cheltenham District Athletics Carnival at Duncan MacKinnon Reserve. The conditions made it one of the most challenging days for the competitors in my team at CPS. The wind gusts made it a jumpers and sprinters dream as the wind howled down the front straight but it made it extremely difficult for the long distance events, discus and high jump.

We had a super successful day with many incredible performance by our students.

Highlighted by Abbey M (6A) who leapt to a new record in the triple jump. Bettering the old mark by 65cm, with a huge jump of 8.70m.

We had 16 students and 2 relay teams qualify for the Kingston Division, which will be on the first week back in Term 4. More information to come via Compass.

Overall we had a strong showing on the points classification finishing in 3rd position.
