Transition and Pathways

I’m excited to introduce myself as the Stage 6 Transition and Pathways Teacher! It has been a wonderful start, meeting your students and supporting them as they work towards their goals—whether that’s selecting subjects for Stage 6, transitioning into the workforce, pursuing further HSC study, or planning for life beyond school.

This term has been busy, with many opportunities, experiences, and presentations from outside organisations enriching our students’ understanding of what’s out there for their futures.

Grow Our Own Industry and Study Tours

Students from Years 9-12 took part in the highly successful Grow Our Own Industry and Study Tours across the region. These tours exposed students to a wide range of careers in Agriculture, Health, Trades, Manufacturing, Business, and Administration. Feedback from our Careers Administrator and supervisor, Mrs Lole and attending students showed that students felt inspired and excited about future study and employment opportunities here in the Riverina.

Country University Centre (CUC) Presentations

Year 12 students recently heard from local CUC Manager, Shiron Kirkman, who shared pathways for post-school study and careers here in Griffith. Year 11 students will also benefit from a session on 31st October during Academic Pastoral Care time, when CUC Support Officer and First-Year Advisor, Maddi Ramponi, delivers the Ready Set Uni program. This initiative supports Year 12 students with course applications, financial options, academic skills, and life-after-school planning—whether that’s uni, TAFE, or a gap year.

Careers in DefenceStudents in Years 9–12 attended an engaging presentation from Sergeant Leigh Morris and Leading Aircraftman Jack Wheatley, who spoke about pathways into Defence careers - complete with interactive activities and prizes for those who attended and a plethora of resources for those keen to know more!

Careers and Employment ExpoOn Friday 24 October, Stage 5 students will attend the Business Chamber’s Careers and Employment Expo, another excellent opportunity to connect with exhibitors from a wide variety of industries. Please watch out for future Compass notification and consent for this event.

It’s been a fantastic start to the term and I look forward to continuing to support our MCC students as they explore their future pathways. Mrs Morris
