Imagine SEVEN people sitting around a ROUND dinner table. They have a LONG ball of string. The string is stretched from one person to another. How many straight lines could they make from one person to another (in any order) BEFORE a triangle is formed by the string?
Be Awesome Day - Donations
As our annual Be Awesome Day is quickly approaching, we are seeking donations to support our stalls. If you are able to donate something we will be most appreciative:
At the end of last term, students and staff enjoyed participating in Footy Colours Day and the staff vs. Grade 6's match to see who would take out the coveted 'Stevo Cup' (The teachers were lucky this to continue their unbeaten run). The weather was perfect for the occasion and there were lots of spectacular tackles on the favourite station - the tackling bags!
In Writing, we have been learning about Haiku Poems. A Haiku is a Japanese poetic form consisting of three lines with a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. Haikus are typically unrhymed and traditionally focus on nature.
In Mathematics, we have begun this term continuing with our exploration of multiplication and division. We have been looking of arrays as well as making the connections of multiplication as repeated addition and division as repeated subtraction.
For Topic, we have begun our topic for this term called 'Through the Generations'. We have been looking how our families of today have changed from those in the past.
Reading, Writing and Spelling:

In Writing, we will begin examining the structure and purpose of persuasive texts.
Mathematics: During weeks 3 and 4, students will be learning about fractions.
Topic: The Topic for Term 4 is 'Through Generations'. Students will investigate how family and school life has changed over time. Over the coming week, students will be given a sheet to take home with them, explaining a 'Class Museum' activity which will take place in Week 5. If you could please support your child with this task we would be very appreciative. If you have any questions please get in touch with your child/ren's teacher.
Respectful Relationships: Our school focus in Respectful Relationships this term is Positive Gender Relationships.
