Principal's Report

The Life of a Principal

Today, I had four awesome students taking over from Mr Parkes as our Assistant Principal. Although his doesn't know this yet, he volunteered his wage during this time to be split four ways for these students! The information below is a short summary of what the students got up to during this time, in their words.

On Thursday, we spent our stickers (50 each!) to help the Principal, Mr Trezise. Our names are Elke, Isla, Ava and Audrey and we might have to go and clean the stinky boys toilet...ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

We went through Mr Trezise's 'Principal Survival Kit' as part of our induction. Isla had the Chief Warden gear, Ava had a plunger, Elke had the Glen 20 and Audrey had a notebook and pen...to pretend she was doing important work.

Thankfully, the plunger stayed dry today. It was their lucky day, although for some strange reason, they were disappointed that it wasn't needed!

Be Awesome Day 2025

The Be Awesome Day organising committee, led by Mrs Schulz, have planning well under way for our annual Be Awesome Day to be held on Friday, 31st October.

Student passports can be purchased via the 'Events' section on Compass. This is also where you provide permission for your child to participate. Parent passports can be purchased on the day.

Please contact the office if you need any support purchasing passports.

Camp Quality Puppet Show

We were fortunate to have the Camp Quality team perform their puppet show last week.

As mentioned in a Compass Post last week, this puppet show was organised to support the return of Alta, an amazing student of our school. It has been approximately 18 months since Alta was first diagnosed with cancer. Her recovery, and now her gradual return to school, is such wonderful news for our entire school community.

Grade 3/4 Camp Success!

I had the privilege of attending the Grade 3/4 Campaspe Downs Camp during the last week of Term 3. It was fantastic camp, with lots of great activities and yummy food!

Thanks very much to our parent helpers (James, Jackie, Ilona, Josh and Kim) for giving up their time to support all our Grade 3/4 students. These camps are not possible without the generous support of our parents. Thanks also to our incredible SGPS staff for supporting the students to have an awesome camp experience. Special thanks to Miss Mitchell for coordinating such a successful camp

Grandparents Day

As shared previously, we are celebrating Grandparents' Day on Friday, 24th October. Please share this date with grandparents and special friends.

Grandparents will be visiting classes from 11.30am-1.30pm, with the option to extend their stay by enjoying some refreshments from 1.30pm-2.00pm.

Emergency Contact Details

As we commence Term 4, it is timely to think about emergency contact information that is held by the school for your child/children. Spring Gully Primary School is also on the Bushfire at Risk Register and up to date information is vital for the school. If you or your listed emergency contacts have recently changed contact details, can you please make sure that the office staff have been informed.

Change of Plans for 2025?

Accurate enrolment numbers are crucial when it comes to planning for 2025.  If your child/children will not be with us next year, please contact your child’s teacher or the office as soon as possible.
