From the Principal

Dear Parents,
PRINCIPAL APPOINTMENT PROCESS
As you would be well aware by now, Mr Shane Davoren has elected to finish his time as the ongoing Principal of St Christopher's School. Shane informed the staff on the last day of Term 3 and shortly after he sent a letter to the school community. If for some reason you did not receive the letter and you would like to read it, please contact the office for a copy and we can also ensure we have your correct email address.
Currently, Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) is preparing to advertise the position. The process involves MACS regional staff meeting with our staff this week to outline the process and gain insights from them about our school, and to hear from them about what characteristics they feel would be important for candidates applying for the role. MACS also consult Fr Jacob, students and parents in the process. As I am informed more about the process, I will keep you updated via this weekly newsletter.
Shane will visit the school later in the year so we can provide him a proper farewell and thank him for his service to our school community.
WELCOME TO TERM 4!
The year is flying by very quickly and it was wonderful to be able to greet all our students today as they returned refreshed and recharged ready for the final term of the year.
For the next two weeks students should begin the transition to the Summer Uniform and with some warmer days predicted in the short term, I'd ask that all students have their hats available to wear outside for greater sun protection. We regularly find hats in classrooms, the playgrounds, in corridors and generally around the school, so I urge you to check your child's hat has their name freshly written or printed for easy identification.
FOOTY COLOURS DAY
Last day of Term 3 was celebrated with our Footy Colours Day. Students were able to wear their AFL team colours or colours of their favourite sporting team from other codes or sports.
It was a timely reminder of how important social and sporting connections can influence our family lives and enjoyment of sport.
Worryingly, you will see how many Collingwoood supporters there are in our school community! I jest, of course, it was great to see how all the students and staff joined in singing the theme songs and high fiving each other as they paraded around in their teams. Please enjoy some photos of the parade below.
