School Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminders

Morning Drop-Off Times

A friendly reminder that students are not permitted on school grounds before 8.20am, as supervision is not available prior to this time. Our Breakfast Club opens at 8.20am each morning, and any students arriving at this time must go directly to the Breakfast Club to ensure they are supervised. For families requiring earlier drop-off, we offer Before and After School Care through TheirCare.

Late Arrivals

When your child receives a late pass from the office, we ask that they walk independently to their classroom. Parents are requested not to accompany their child to the classroom during this process.

Early Departures

To minimise disruption to classroom learning, please provide a note to your child's teacher in the morning if they need to leave early. This allows us to have your child ready at the office at the designated time. Please note that lunchtime pick-ups without prior notice can result in significant delays, as locating students during this busy period can be challenging.

What is Compass?

Compass is our main form of communication with parents and families at Trafalgar Primary School.

Parents and families can access Compass for their child’s attendance, timetables, reports, events and updates from school.

Permission and consent forms will now be online only, reducing the stress of searching for that misplaced paper copy.

1. Access the Event:

  • Login to Compass:

Access your Compass portal via the mobile app or web browser.

  • Locate the Alert:

If an event requires your action, a notification or alert will typically appear on your homepage or newsfeed. Click on this alert.

  • Navigate to Events:

Alternatively, you can click the grid menu icon (or the blue shortcuts button on the app) and select "Events."

  • Action Centre:

Go to the "Action Centre" tab where all events requiring your consent or payment will be listed, often organized by student if you have multiple children.

2. Provide Consent and/or Payment:

  • Select the Event:

Click on the specific event you wish to action.

  • Review Details:

Carefully review all event details, including dates, times, location, cost, and any specific requirements.

  • Consent:

If consent is required, you will likely see a "Proceed to Consent" button or similar. Click this and follow the prompts to provide any necessary medical information, update contact details, and formally give your consent by entering your name and submitting.

  • Payment:

If payment is required, you can often pay directly online using a credit card (you may have the option to save details to your Compass Wallet for future convenience). If offline payment is preferred, you may be able to print a form to submit to the school with your payment.

  • Confirmation:

Once consent and/or payment is successfully processed, you should receive a confirmation within Compass, and the event will be marked as actioned.

Please contact the school office if you need your login details or support to access Compass.

Parents & Friends News

Colour Run

We would like to thank staff and parents, and their friends and family who took part in our Colour Run last week. It certainly looked like everybody enjoyed themselves!

We are still tallying up your donations, and the school will announce the total funds raised as soon as it's available. Prizes will be delivered to school and will be sorted and brought to classrooms by your P&F committee in the coming weeks.

Sweet Treat Day

We would like to thank Corinne from Say It Sweet Patisserie for providing cookies to our school for our Sweet Treat Day last term. We would also like to thank Miss Sneddon and the Junior School Council for handing them out on what ended up being a very busy day!  We hope students enjoyed their treat at lunchtime and had fun dressing up in their footy colours ahead of the AFL Grand final over the school holidays.

Tour De Kids Challenge – Supporting the Starlight Foundation

During October, I will be taking part in the Tour De Kids challenge to raise funds for the Starlight Foundation. My goal is to ride at least 20km every day throughout the month – a total of 500km or more

Here is my ride update.  I have ridden 360km so far this month which is as far as Wagga Wagga in New South Wales!

The Starlight Foundation does incredible work supporting seriously ill children and their families, and every donation helps brighten their lives.

If you would like to support this cause, you can do so by scanning the QR code below to make a donation. Any contribution, big or small, will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support as I take on this mammoth challenge! 🚴‍♀️💜
