Silver Success at the Ultimate Frisbee State Championships! 🥈🥏

Trafalgar Primary School made history at the 2025 Ultimate Frisbee School State Championships, with both our Boys and Girls teams achieving incredible results.

After a day of outstanding play, teamwork, and determination, both teams advanced all the way to the Victorian Grand Final—an extraordinary accomplishment at this elite level of competition. Although both teams narrowly missed out on the top spot, they each came away with silver medals and an impressive 2nd place finish in the whole of Victoria. 🥈

This marks the highest level of sporting success in the history of our school, and we could not be prouder of our students’ effort, sportsmanship, and commitment. Congratulations to all our Ultimate Frisbee players on an amazing achievement—you’ve set a new standard for Trafalgar Primary School sport! 👏

Trafalgar Shines at Regional Athletics! 🏃‍♀️🌟

On Wednesday 15 October, a talented group of Trafalgar Primary School athletes represented our school at the Gippsland Regional Athletics Championships held at the Joe Carmody Athletics Track in Newborough.

All of our athletes performed exceptionally well, showing determination, resilience, and fantastic sportsmanship while competing against some of the best young athletes in Gippsland.

Official results are still unpublished, but early reports show some fantastic Trafalgar performances:

  • Elisha I, Zane C, Mack P, and Addison B all performed strongly in their individual events.
  • The 9–10 Girls 4x100m Relay Team — Addison B, Peyton H, Havana B, and Layla R — ran superbly to finish just outside the podium places.
  • Peyton H finished 10th in the 1500m and an impressive 4th in the 800m.
  • Aurora C claimed 1st place in both the 100m and 200m, earning her a spot at the School Sport Victoria State Athletics Championships at Lakeside Stadium, Albert Park on Thursday 6 November! 🎉

Congratulations to all of our athletes on their outstanding efforts and achievements—you represented Trafalgar Primary School with pride and energy. Good luck to Aurora as she now prepares to compete at the state finals! 👏🏅

Trafalgar Primary School served up some outstanding performances at the Divisional Hotshots Tennis Competition last week, with two boys’ teams and two girls’ teams representing our school.

All players competed with great enthusiasm and skill, earning plenty of shoutouts from organisers and other schools for their impressive play and excellent sportsmanship throughout the day. 🎾

A special congratulations goes to our Trafalgar Girls A team, who finished 1st overall, and our Trafalgar Boys A team, who finished 2nd overall. Both teams now advance to the Gippsland Regional Hotshots Tennis Competition on Wednesday 22 October, where they’ll compete for a place in the Victorian State Championships.

Colour Run Success! 🌈🏃‍♀️

Last Friday, 10 October, Trafalgar Primary School held its annual School Colour Run, which proved to be both a fun and highly successful community event. Students, staff, and families came together to enjoy an active and colourful afternoon, with plenty of smiles across the day.

The Colour Run also served as a major fundraising opportunity, with funds raised supporting future school programs and resources. Events like this highlight the wonderful community spirit that makes Trafalgar Primary School such a great place to learn and grow.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, or donated to make the day such a success. Your support is greatly appreciated.

The Rotary Roundup: Student Edition

Hello, my name is Imogen and at the start of the year, I participated in something called the Rotary Junior Community Award. It is a program type event where you have to do activities and get them signed off to show that you really did it. The Rotary Junior Community Award is designed to make students in schools more involved in their community. Though it can be a bit hard to wrap your head around at first, it is super fun and rewarding! Thank you, Raavi, my grandma and the staff, at my swimming lessons for helping me complete the Rotary Award!

Rotary Junior Community Award

Since the start of this year, I have been doing something called the Rotary Junior Community Award. The Rotary Junior Community Award is an award where you have to do various activities, including ten weeks of community service, ten weeks of working on a specific skill, going to a community meeting, doing several cultural, religious and spiritual experiences, interviewing people about their culture, traditions and religions, doing a project on the environment, doing a project on a commemoration and writing a lot of reports. For my experience, I have worked on cooking/baking, done community service cleaning a tennis club, went to my mother’s Indonesian teaching meeting, attended an Anzac Day march, interviewed people and wrote a bunch of reports. It has been exhausting and there were times I thought of quitting, but it has been an interesting, rewarding and worthwhile experience! I have learned so much and am so grateful to so many people for helping me acquire this goal. The Rotary Junior Community Award is definitely a wonderful opportunity, and I would recommend it to anyone.

A special thank you to Phoebe and Imogen for letting me interview them, my nana, mum, dad and even my old after school care supervisor for helping me with my cooking and baking, the people that organised the Anzac Day March and most importantly, Ms Ross, for helping everyone and organising this whole award in the first place!

Grade 3 Cricket Clinic with the Melbourne Stars

Last term, the Grade 3 students had the exciting privilege of taking part in a cricket clinic run by the Melbourne Stars. The energy on the oval was electric as students picked up bats and balls, ready to learn from some of the very best. To make the day even more special, Melbourne Stars player Sam Elliott visited our school and led the session with plenty of enthusiasm.

Throughout the clinic, students rotated through a series of fun cricket drills, building their skills while encouraging and cheering each other on. There were plenty of smiles, lots of laughter, and some impressive displays of teamwork and sportsmanship. One of the biggest highlights was attempting to break the world record for the most claps while tossing a cricket ball in the air before catching it again. Some of us came incredibly close, and everyone loved giving it their best shot!

After all the activities, students gathered around for a Q&A with Sam. He shared what life is like as a professional cricketer, from the hard work of training to the excitement of playing in front of big crowds. His stories inspired many budding cricketers amongst the grade 3’s and gave us a glimpse into the dedication and passion it takes to succeed at the highest level.

The Stars also surprised the Grade 3 students with their very own Melbourne Stars cap, which Sam kindly signed for the group which is a wonderful keepsake to help us remember this special day.

We were also joined by a representative from the Trafalgar Cricket Club, who spoke to students about opportunities to get involved in the local community cricket. If your child is interested in signing up, please see the flyer for more information.

The Grade 3 students would like to give a huge thank you to Mr White for organising such a wonderful experience, and to the Melbourne Stars team for making the clinic so enjoyable. It was an unforgettable day filled with fun, fitness, and inspiration!

Footy Colours Day Success!

What a colourful way to end Term 3! Trafalgar Primary School came alive with team spirit as students proudly wore their favourite sporting teams' colours for our annual Footy Colours Day.

Our Junior School Councillors did an outstanding job organising this special event, and we're thrilled to announce that together we raised $168.45 for the Fight Cancer Foundation. This important charity supports Australian children battling cancer and their families during incredibly challenging times.

A huge thank you to our generous school community for your donations. Every contribution makes a difference in the lives of children facing cancer.

Keep an eye out for more exciting fundraising opportunities coming your way in Term 4. Our student leaders are already busy planning their next initiatives!

💫TPS Assembly Awards 💫

Congratulations to our wonderful Silver and Bronze GPA award winners! Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have truly paid off. You should be incredibly proud of what you've accomplished this year. Keep up the fantastic effort!
