Wow! Is it the end of Term 3 already?
I would like to begin by acknowledging the amazing work of our staff this term in delivering a comprehensive and engaging teaching and learning program for our students. To our students, thank you for fully immersing yourselves in all learning experiences and for always striving to be your best selves.
What a wonderful afternoon we enjoyed last Wednesday at our Primary Years Programme Learning Expo! With students sharing their learning with passion and pride, the Expo truly highlighted the incredible achievements of our children this term, showcasing the deep understanding they have developed through their inquiries.
Next term, we will conclude our learning around ‘How the World Works’ before diving into ‘Sharing the Planet’. This inquiry will guide students to explore their rights and responsibilities in sharing finite resources with people and living things. Students will also investigate how communities, and the relationships within and between them, can support or hinder our goals to share resources.
This week, our whole school production ‘The Cupcake Mistake’ will be shared with our community at the Darebin Arts Centre. The production showcases the talents of every child at the school and was a true student-led initiative, with students taking on the role of head writers, choreographers and many other roles. We would like to thank Tanya D, Evie P, Molly W, and Abby for all their hard work in preparing for this production, and extend our gratitude to all staff for supporting students to shine on stage, whether on Wednesday or Thursday evening.
As always, I would also like to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of Nicole, Emily, and Joe. They spend countless hours fielding parent queries and concerns, managing the day-to-day challenges of school life, and supporting the broader community. They truly are the heart and soul of Fitzroy North Primary School, and I cannot thank them enough for their commitment and dedication.
A huge congratulations to the eight students who have progressed to the Regional level following this week’s Divisional Athletics Carnival. All FNPS students represented our school with pride and embodied our school values of Kindness, Resilience, and Respect. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you for your outstanding efforts!
A final reminder that the Parent Opinion Survey is open until Friday 19th September 2025. We encourage you to complete this as it will contribute to identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies. The survey is being conducted online and only takes 20 minutes to complete.
