A message from Tami -Jo

Dear parents/carers,
It has been a whirlwind of events these last couple of weeks and we have really enjoyed having many of you in to join us. There have been performing arts performances, Celebrations of Learning, The Secondary Athletics Carnival, Cultural performances, swimming and many, many excursions. It has been wonderful to see how enthusiastic the students have been whilst participating in all of the events. We have also really enjoyed having so many of you onsite to join in the fun with the students.
Art Show
Our first Art Show was a huge success. The students loved taking their families around and showing their parents/carers their art work as well as that of their friends. The gym was abuzz with our families taking in the gorgeous pieces. Thank you to all of those who came and supported this wonderful event.
Wizard of Oz
The Secondary performing arts group had their first ever mini-production which they performed to the year 6 cohort last week. The cast and the back stage crew worked very well together to make it a cohesive performance. I loved watching how enthusiastic they all were to make it work! We look forward to more of these types of performances as our secondary program grows.
Year 9 graduation
The Year 9 Graduation was a wonderful celebration, and we were incredibly proud of the students. Their behaviour throughout the event was exemplary and reflected the maturity and respect they have developed during their time with us. We wish them every success as they transition to Year 10 in their new schools and look forward to hearing about their achievements and the positive contributions they will continue to make in the years ahead.
Year 6 Celebration
Our year 6 students have had a lovely wind up to the year and end of the primary school with their Adventure Park excursion and the Celebration assembly on Monday. We look forward to watching them continue to grow in the coming years.
Awards Ceremonies
We have held three Awards Ceremonies over the past week; each one has been lovely. The students have acted beautifully; respectfully listening whilst appreciating and celebrating a small number of students who have been recognised in a number of areas both academic and wellbeing focussed. I loved how the students supported each other and managed themselves. We also spent time acknowledging the growth that all children had made; discussed that awards aren’t everything and how students could set goals moving forward into next year.

Reports
We encourage parents and caregivers to access their child’s school report and take time to discuss their progress together. Reading the report with your child helps them understand their achievements, recognise areas for growth, and celebrate the effort they have shown throughout the year. Open conversations about learning goals and progress strengthen home–school partnerships and support students to take pride in their learning and continue to grow with confidence.
Classes for 2026
We ask parents and caregivers to support the school during the class placement process, which is carefully considered by our teachers to ensure the best learning outcomes for all students. While being placed in a different class from previous years or familiar peers can sometimes feel challenging, these changes provide valuable opportunities for children to build resilience, develop independence, and strengthen their social skills. Learning to form new friendships and work with a variety of peers helps prepare students for future transitions and supports their overall growth and wellbeing.
Social media ban
Parents and caregivers play an important role in supporting children to navigate social media safely and responsibly. We encourage families to talk regularly with their children about online behaviour, privacy, and wellbeing, and to set clear boundaries around device and social media use. Following recent Australian Government announcements regarding restrictions on social media access for children under 16, we recommend accessing reliable information through official government websites and trusted news sources. Staying informed will help families make confident decisions and support young people to develop healthy, balanced digital habits.
Thank you
I want to finish this year by saying thank you to our amazing staff- leadership, teachers, ES classroom support staff and ES admin, allied health and facilities support for all their hard work to help our school achieve the best for our students.
And a huge thank you to you as well- we appreciate your support throughout the year.
We wish you all a safe and happy holiday. For those celebrating Xmas, I hope that Santa is kind to you. I also hope you all get to spend some time with family doing many of the things that you love. We look forward to seeing you again on the 29th of January for Years 1-9 and on the 4th February for our new Preps.
