Looking Forward: Goals for the Future & Senior Subject Selection
As we reach the end of November and begin to reflect on what has been a productive and energising year, our attention also turns to the opportunities ahead. This time of year, encourages us to pause, take stock of our achievements, and set clear goals for the future—both as a school community and for each of our students.
Strengthening Our Culture and Vision
Our work in Community and Culture continues to focus on building an inclusive, respectful, and aspirational environment for all students. Across the year, we have strengthened connections between year groups, expanded leadership opportunities, and continued to develop a culture where students feel a strong sense of belonging.
Looking ahead to next year, we remain committed to:
Deepening partnerships with families and the wider community
Expanding wellbeing supports and proactive engagement strategies
Promoting student voice and leadership across all year levels
Celebrating diversity and nurturing a culture of respect and responsibility
These goals are central to ensuring that every student is equipped—academically, socially, and emotionally—to thrive now and into the future.
Subject Selection Interviews for Senior Students
A key focus this month has been the Subject Selection Interviews for our incoming senior students. These interviews play an important role in helping students make informed decisions about their pathways. We have been impressed by the thoughtful conversations, mature reflections, and growing clarity students have shown during this process.
Thank you to all parents and caregivers who attended the interviews; your involvement and insights are invaluable as students shape their directions for Years 11 and 12. Throughout the interviews, we have explored:
Individual strengths and areas of interest
Emerging ideas for careers or further education
Balanced subject combinations that support both wellbeing and aspiration
Prerequisites for university, VET, or workplace pathways
The guidance provided during these interviews lays a strong foundation for each student’s senior journey.
Moving Forward Together
As we head into the final weeks of the year, I encourage families to continue discussing goals, interests, and future pathways at home. These conversations help students build confidence in their decisions and recognise the many possibilities that lie ahead.
Thank you once again for your partnership, support, and commitment to our shared vision for a thriving school culture. I look forward to continuing our work together as we prepare for an exciting year ahead.
Warm regards,
Kath Jones
