Student Engagement and Wellbeing

Hello Wimba Families,

It's been a very busy few weeks with so many wonderful things happening at Wimba Primary School.

Breakfast club is still running on Tuesday and Friday's.

Our students are absolutely loving toast at Breakfast Club! It’s become a morning favourite, and it’s wonderful to see student starting their day with something to eat.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

This term students have been focusing on building confidence and skills to help when they feel unsafe, overwhelmed or unsafe. They are learning to recognise the signs of when they need support and identify trusted adults.

Students are also learning about relationships between their peers how to develop friendships. students also explore consent, boundaries and respect by understanding positive relationships are built on kindness, equality and clear communication.

Student House Leadership

It’s an exciting time of year as we begin selecting our next group of aspiring House Captains for 2026.

House Captains play a key role in promoting teamwork, inclusion, and school pride. They help organise and lead house events, encourage participation, and celebrate student achievements.  Our House Spirit Captains will lead by example, showing positivity, responsibility, and teamwork while inspiring others to get involved.

As part of the selection process, nominees will participate in leadership workshops and present to the panel in the upcoming weeks.

We look forward to sharing the house captains once selected.

2026 Foundation Student Transitions

We have had a wonderfully positive start to our Foundation transition program. Our future students have settled in beautifully, building confidence, exploring new routines, and forming early connections with their peers and teaching staff.

We are looking forward to our final transition session on Tuesday December 9, which will give our students one more opportunity to experience classroom life before we officially welcome them as full-time Foundation learners in 2026.

Thank you to our families for your support—we can’t wait to begin this exciting journey together next year!

Thank you
