Teaching and Learning 

Hello Families, 

It's half way through Term 4 and your children will have been learning lots of different things and possibly even completing some assessments. It's important to touch on reading to ensure that our students continue reading each day. 

There are so many things in our day to day life that we need to read. We need to read signs, instructions, letters, emails, websites etc. Being able to read all of those things is so important in our life. We see our students reading lots of different things each day as well. They read off the board in class when they are learning new things, they read instructions for their learning tasks, they read what an assessment is, they read where they need to go around the school and they read their texts to each other. We love seeing our students love of learning through their reading. 

We would love to see our students continue to read for the whole term. They can read hard copy books as well as books that are available online through the school. Please have a conversation with the classroom teacher to see how your child can continue to access reading for the whole term. This is a skill that children need to practice each day. 

The library is a fantastic source of different types of reading materials. It's always wonderful to see students in the library at break times. They are animated when reading how to play games and reading their books. If you have library books at home, now is the time to return them please so that all students can enjoy the different books in our library.
