Year 6 Graduation Evening 2025
Last Thursday evening we celebrated the Year 6 students of 2025. Together with their parents and staff we reflected on all of their achievements and just how much they have grown and developed from the little Preps they were when they entered the gates seven years ago.
As we said on the night and as we will reiterate again tomorrow at the Graduation Assembly these students have made a significant impact on the students and staff over their time here and will always have a place in our hearts. Their influence has been positive and they have brought their own unique gifts, energy and enthusiasm to everything they have participated in. We are particularly proud of the way they have stepped up as leaders in their various roles this year. They are important advocates and ambassadors for our school in the community.
It is a favourite night for all of our staff who attend. It is an honour to have played a significant role in the development and flourishing of each of these students as classroom teachers, specialists or in learning support roles.
Enormous thanks to Toni Allen, their classroom teacher who prepared the students and put many hours into making sure the evening was a success. Her expertise and hard work to showcase the Year 6 students talents was a testament to the relationships she has developed with each of them over the year. It was a brilliant night!
Thanks to Nicolle and Mia for their work to support the evening both prior to and on the night. It was an enormous effort on their part along with Toni.
Thanks to the Year 5 parents, especially Charlotte Moore, Matt Stubbs and Ina Odak who transformed the Hall. Special thanks to the Year 3 parents, especially Lucinda Watford who assisted with decorating the Hall and supported with setting up, waiting on tables and cleaning up. Thanks to Father Gallacher and Patrick Harris who also attended.
We wish each of the Year 6 students all the very best as they take a small part of St Roch's with them to their secondary schools next year.
Farewell to our Amazing Staff
Last Tuesday afternoon we gathered in the Hall to farewell five amazing members of St Roch’s Primary School. Signora Sorbello, Ms Boers, Mr Crowe, Miss Mangan and Jenny Joyce. We feel extremely lucky to have had these wonderful staff in our school, some for a long time and some for a short time. The year 6 students led a beautiful assembly and here is a little of what was said...
Signora: After 25 years of dedication to St Roch's, we said a fond arrivederci to our Italian teacher, Signora Sorbello. Signora Sorbello leaves a wonderful legacy of St Roch's students who share her love of all things Italian. Grazie mille, Signora Sorbello! We wish her a long and happy retirement!
The students read a message to Signora Sorbello in Italian...
Thank you for being our Italian teacher for 25 years.
We have liked learning about the Italian language and culture.
We hope that you enjoy all that awaits. Thank you Signora
Ms Boers: We bid farewell to the wonderful Ms. Boers as she embarks on a new chapter after ten incredible years at St Roch's. While we will miss her presence at St Roch’s, we celebrate the mark she has left on our school community. For the past two years, she has been our dedicated Art teacher, and thanks to her genuine love for teaching, our students' artistic skills have grown. We see this as we pass the art displays in the hallways and the pieces she frames to make them look so professional. We wish Ms Boers all the very best in her new role and we thank her for sharing her passion, kindness and art with the students of St Roch’s.
Mr Crowe: We celebrated Mr. Crowe's remarkable nine years of dedication to the students and community of St Roch's. Throughout the past nine years, countless students have benefited from his gentle and encouraging manner, first in the classroom, teaching Year 3, 4, 5, and Year 6, and now as a STEM teacher and a Mathematics leader. Whether in the classroom or while on many school camps over the years he brings his smile and encouraging spirit. Mr. Crowe has fostered curiosity and confidence in every student he meets.
Miss Mangan: It was with a mixture of sadness and excitement that we said goodbye to the wonderful Miss Mangan as she leaves St Roch's to return home to Ireland after two years. We will miss her calm presence and kind manner so much however we are absolutely thrilled for her as she goes home to her family and prepares for her wedding in 2027! She has a true gift for creating a clear, settled and supportive environment in her classroom. We wish Miss Mangan the very best of luck and happiness on her return journey and in her new life back home.
Jenny Joyce: Jenny has made a big the impact at St Roch's even though she has only been with us for a short time. We are so grateful for her calm and gentle manner. She has been a wonderful support, making sure everything in the office runs smoothly. It's been great seeing her friendly face in Reception! We wish her all the very best for the future and for all the amazing adventures and traveling she has planned in her retirement!
Gardening Club
Thank you Mrs. Meseha for enhancing the wellbeing of our students and staff through Gardening Club! We are extremely appreciative and value your care and commitment you have for the students of St Roch's. Your engaging activities each week always spark the interest of our 'budding gardeners' whilst providing an inclusive space to play. 🌻
Thank you also to our very dedicated group of students who are regular helpers in the garden. We know how powerful this opportunity is in supporting and enhancing all of our students wellbeing. We are very lucky! (Mrs Nadine Bolton)

Icy Pole Friday
Last Friday was the final 'Icy Pole Friday' for the year. It's always a fun way to end the week and the students have raised $ over the year. These funds will go towards the installation of a Gaga Pit in our school playground. Thank you to our school captains and vice school captains, Kora, Ethan, Grace and William and to Miss Allen and Mr Pinchbeck for leading this fun initiative throughout 2025. And a big thank you to all the families who have supported Icy Pole Friday.
Art Club
Thank you for a fantastic 2025! We are grateful to our Arts Leaders Michael and Evie and our Art Specialist teacher Ms Boers for the incredible art activities they planned for our students throughout Term 4.
We will miss you in the Art Room next year, Ms Boers. We wish you every success at your new school in Crib Point.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a fabulous New Year!
