We are excited to share that Stage One of our new Specialist Precinct is now underway. This week you will see worksite fencing and early preparation taking place as we get ready for the arrival of our new portable classrooms. We’ll keep you updated with progress photos and news as the project unfolds. It’s an exciting step forward for our school community. As always, please remind your children that the construction areas are strictly out of bounds to ensure everyone’s safety.
Thank you, once again, for the incredible generosity shown through our St Vincent de Paul Mini Vinnies Christmas Appeal. Last Friday, I had the privilege of joining our student representatives: Molly B, Alyssa M, Charles M and Zoe W at the Immaculate Conception parish centre in Hastings. Alongside students from St Mary’s Hastings and St Joseph’s Crib Point, and the wonderful St Vincent de Paul volunteers, we packed 75 Christmas hampers for families in need across the Westernport region.

Below you’ll find a heartfelt letter of appreciation from Bill Grant at St Vincent de Paul, acknowledging the kindness and compassion of our St Brendan’s community.
Hello Nicole, Gab & Sue,
I am writing on behalf of the Westernport Conference to congratulate you, your staff members, your Mini Vinnies team members, your students and their families for the wonderful job they have all done in supplying a wide range of Christmas goods for the benefit of our needy families in the Westernport area.
On Friday the Mini Vinnies teams, along with staff members from our three Parish Primary Schools, consolidated all the donations in the Parish Centre in Hastings and assisted with the packing of 75 hampers for our St. Vincent de Paul team to distribute before Christmas. A magnificent result by all involved and is sure to add extra joy at Christmas to those families that receive a hamper.
Please would you convey our heartfelt thanks to all staff, students and families who supported this wonderful project.
Thanks again and kind regards,
Bill Grant

Yesterday, our Year 5/6 and Year 3/4 students had the privilege of spending time with the inspiring Jason Vaux; a remarkable young man living with Cerebral Palsy, an accomplished athlete, and a strong advocate for inclusion. Jason captivated our students and staff with his honest, upbeat and deeply engaging presentation. He spoke about living with disability, his experiences with cerebral palsy, the power of community through the Oliver’s Hill Run Club, the importance of friendships and values, and the realities of bullying, challenges, goal setting, setbacks and success.
It was a session filled with heart, humour, honesty and hope. I encourage you to ask your children about what they heard and learned. I’m sure they will have plenty of thoughtful reflections to share.

I look forward to bringing you more school news in our final newsletter for the year in Week 10.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
Warmest regards
Sue Carr

St Brendan's were asked by Somerville Centro, to decorate a tree for a competition held in the foyer near Target Somerville. Mrs Riddell, Mrs Christensen and students came up with this masterpiece. We ask all families, when passing near Target, to scan the QR code, and vote for this St Brendan's show of brilliance. We will share the results with you when the voting is done.
