Principal's Message

Kaileen Carr

Presentation Day - Emails have been sent to parents this week informing them that their child will be receiving an award at Presentation day.  We are looking forward to seeing you all on the day. All students and staff will attend Bathurst High School on Monday 8 December. Please make sure you have given permission for your child to attend in Schoolbytes.

I would like to congratulate our new school captains for 2026. Anabel Astridge and Jack Williams voted School Captains and Clara Howarth and Hugh Dutton voted School Vice Captains.

Over the past couple of days, we have seen some extreme weather conditions. As you may or may not be aware Eglinton PS is a bushfire Category 2 school; this means that if the Rural Fire Service NSW deems a fire warning for Bathurst as catastrophic, we will be advised by the Department of Education if we are required to be non-operational for a period of time. The school will send out a notification to all families through Schoolbytes notifying you of the closure. This is in place to keep all staff and students safe.

Attendance - As we move towards the end of the year we notice a drop in attendance. Just a reminder that it is a requirement for all children to attend school up to the end of the year. Parents are required to explain any absences through School bytes or by notifying the class teacher.

Please click the link below for information regarding both Primary and High school selective schools applications for 2027. It is up to parents to complete these applications.

School Community Charter - Please read the attached document outlining the School Community Charter.

At Eglinton we strive to ensure that all teachers, students, parents and community members treat each other with dignity and respect. This is inclusive of drop off and pick up times. The school is committed to building a positive school culture where student, staff and parent wellbeing is a priority. I appreciate your support.
