This term in Walton House has been filled with learning, reflection, and celebration. Our students had the opportunity to hear from several inspiring guest speakers, including Chloe from the Butterfly Foundation, who spoke about Body Image and the influence of social media on self-esteem. Her presentation encouraged students to think critically about the messages they see online and to value kindness and self-acceptance. We also welcomed Michael Raydan, who shared a powerful message about how our choices shape our lives and the importance of considering the impact of our actions on ourselves, our families, and our community. Both sessions gave students valuable insights to carry forward into the new year.
We also held our final Walton House Assembly, where students were recognised for their achievements in Respect, Learning, Working Together, and Attendance through our Values Nominations. It was wonderful to celebrate the effort, resilience, and positive contributions of so many students. The assembly also featured the final House Mentor Competition results, with the exciting announcement that 7B are the overall Mentor House Champions! Congratulations to all students who participated with great enthusiasm — well done, 7B!
A major highlight of Term 4 was Commencement, where students officially stepped up to their new year level and began exploring their 2026 subjects. This exciting week gave students the chance to meet their new teachers, connect with classmates, and get a sense of what the year ahead will bring. The enthusiasm and positive attitude shown by Walton students throughout Commencement reflected their readiness to take on new challenges and continue their learning journey with confidence.
We ended our time together on Monday 8 December with an action-packed day at Bounce Keysborough and Braeside Park. Students enjoyed trampolining, high ropes, and rock climbing before relaxing with a barbecue and games in the afternoon. It was a fantastic day of fun, teamwork, and celebration — and students represented Walton House beautifully with their respectful behaviour and positive energy.
A heartfelt thank you to all Walton students and their families for their ongoing support this year. Special thanks also go to the Walton Team — Naomi Dawson (Senior SEL), Aaron Hare (2025 Junior SEL), Niamh Clarke (2026 Junior SEL), and Mareta Alipia — for their dedication and care throughout the semester. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve as Assistant Principal – Head of Walton House and to work with such an inspiring group of young people.
As we look ahead, please remember that school resumes with a staggered start from Wednesday 29 January 2026 — be sure to check the return-to-school information carefully. Wishing all students and their families a safe, joyful, and restful holiday break. See you in 2026 — soar high, Walton Eagles!
