Principal's Report

Dear Families,

As we come to the end of another challenging and productive year, I want to extend my sincere thanks to our entire school community for your dedication, hard work and commitment. To our Teachers, Education Support staff and Leadership team—thank you for the countless hours you have invested to support student learning, wellbeing and growth. Your efforts continue to shape the positive school culture and improved learning outcomes at our college.

This week, we eagerly await the release of the VCE results. While these results are an important milestone, it is equally important to remember that they do not define a young person’s future. There are many pathways to success, and every student has the potential to thrive in a direction that suits their strengths and aspirations. I encourage all students with questions—or those seeking guidance—to reach out to our dedicated and highly experienced Careers Team, who are here to support every step of the way.

We have just concluded two productive weeks of our Commencement Program, an invaluable opportunity for students to gain a “head start” on their 2026 learning. It has been pleasing to see so many students engage positively and prepare themselves for the year ahead.

Today, we look forward to celebrating outstanding student achievement and growth at our Annual Awards Evening. We will recognise those students who exemplify our values of Respect, Learning and Working Together, and we will proudly announce the Dux recipients for VCE General, VCE-VM and VPC. Each of these pathways is valued equally at our college, and we celebrate the commitment and excellence demonstrated across all certificates.

This week, students commence the End of Year Activities Program, with students attending Braeside Park and Bounce for a fun day out. School based activities focussing on fun and challenge are available on other days.

A very special congratulations goes to Ms Rabecca Mphande, who was recently named a Winner of the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll. This is an incredible achievement and a reflection of Ms Mphande’s long-standing dedication to supporting multicultural communities across Victoria. We are extremely proud of her and grateful for the passion and leadership she brings to our school.

I am also pleased to share that we have received approval for an upgrade to the Walton Courtyard and locker area. Design, tender and the construction processes will occur throughout the 2026 school year. The completion of this area will include, landscaping, shade sails, an extended locker area and underground tanks to reduce the risk of flooding to the college. This additional facility upgrade will bring improved facilities for our students to enjoy.

Recently we have reviewed and ratified the following policies:-

  • Statement of Values and School Philosophy
  • Child Safety Code of Conduct
  • Student Wellbeing and Engagement Policy
  • Bullying Prevention Policy
  • Anaphylaxis Policy
  • Attendance Policy
  • Complaints Policy
  • Volunteers Policy
  • Visitors Policy

These new and revised policies have been uploaded to our College website and I encourage you to read these policies and provide any feedback to me via email.

Finally, thank you once again to the staff both teaching and ES who work tirelessly to support our students every day. A particular thank you to the Executive Leadership Team for their exceptional leadership in driving continuous school improvement and improved learning outcomes.

A reminder from the start of 2026, all students are required to use a school approved padlock purchased from the college.

School returns for Year 7, 11 and 12 on Wednesday January 28th with all other year levels returning on Thursday 29th January.

I wish all families a safe, restful and enjoyable break and look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year.
