Grade 6 Report

Grade 6 has been a fantastic year! Our teachers have pushed us to our limits, helping us achieve more in the classroom than ever before. We have loved experiencing our final year in primary school.
Our Interschool Sport teams were a great success, with the Cricket Girls, Cricket Boys, Soccer Boys, Futsal Boys and Futsal Girls all making it to State. The Futsal teams played amazingly, bringing back two trophies to our school after their wins.
The Grade 6 camp was a highlight of the year for everyone.
“The bus ride was long, but we were able to get through by singing the whole way. The laser tag was a blast! The lights and experience were amazing—short and sweet. Day 3 was the most memorable. After hiking Mount Ainslie and visiting the Australian Mint as well as the AIS, the last few days went quickly, giving us time on the bus to reflect on our great journey.” (Thanks to Deon for sharing his experience with us.)
The journey of the Grade 6 band has been another great opportunity. The band learned to perform four songs in total: My Delirium, Sweet Caroline, A Thousand Miles, and our graduation song, Here We Go. School of Rock was a hit! We performed our songs and listened to many other schools. The Art Show and the 150-Year Anniversary were both wonderful events that allowed us to show the Preston Primary community what we had learned as a band this year.
As the year progressed and graduation drew closer, we began planning our final adventures with our friends. Our graduation practices were sounding better than ever, and it finally felt like our last year. There was more and more talk about high school in class, and the workload slowly began to ease.
Now, with only a few days left, and as we look back on our primary school memories, they become more special each time. We have all started to realise how much we will miss this place in the years to come. Preston Primary has been a huge part of all our journeys—and always will be.
