Wellbeing and Engagement

JSC Fundraiser

Mark your calendars because the last day of term is Pyjama Day at our school! Not only do you get to roll out of bed and come to school in your comfiest PJs, but we are also supporting a fantastic cause - Diabetes Australia.

Here's how it works:- Wear your favourite pyjamas: Think flannel sets, oodies, slippers and a dressing gown! - Bring a gold coin: If you can, please bring along a gold coin donation. Every bit counts, and together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those living with diabetes. See you all in PJ best!

Language of Friendship Evening

What a night!

We were delighted to see so many of our Year 3 families at a special information night last Thursday. Together we learned about the Language of Friendship!

Families got to learn about the 'friendship ninja skills' that are the essence of our URStrong program. They looked at strategies including the '4 Friendship Facts,' the 'Friend-o-Meter,' and the 'Friend-o-Cycle' to address any challenges children have within their friendships.

Led by our enthusiastic Year 3 students, the parent information night featured an information session with our guest speaker, Andrea Jackson, Maroondah Positive Education Network Officer, at the Sports and Performance Centre. Followed by a showcase of student-led activities in our classrooms.

Now it is much easier to communicate with our parents to help us solve friendships issues that occur at school.

The parents now know more information so that when we come home, they can help us sort out friendships issues if it hasn’t already been sorted during recess or lunch using the strategies. I also loved presenting, it was really fun!
