Visit from the Minister for Children,

The Honourable Lizzie Blandthorn

On Wednesday, June 5th, Great Ryrie Primary School had the honour of hosting

The Honourable Lizzie Blandthorn, Minister for Children, Mayor Cr Kylie Spears, Steve Kowlaski and Nick McGowan MP. Their visit was to explore potential locations for a new kindergarten in our area.

Our School Captains and Flag Captains warmly welcomed our distinguished guests with a ceremonial raising of the flag and an acknowledgment of country.

Following this, our visitors were taken on a tour of the school and participated in a meeting to discuss the possibilities and benefits of establishing a new kindergarten.

This visit was highly significant for our school community.

We greatly appreciate the dedication of The Honourable Lizzie Blandthorn, Mayor Kylie Spears, and Nick McGowan MP to enhancing early childhood education in our local area. Our student leaders were especially grateful for the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversation with such influential figures.

We look forward to the possibility of collaborating on future projects that will benefit our community.

Mid-Year Reports

We are grateful for the productive report writing day held last Friday. This day allowed our teachers to focus entirely on compiling and reviewing each student's data without the usual daily demands of teaching.

Their commitment and hard work on this day ensures that each report is detailed, accurate, and reflective of each student's progress.

The countless hours our teachers have devoted outside of their normal hours, to assessments, meetings, and report writing highlight their dedication to providing the highest quality education for our students.

At Great Ryrie Primary School, we are committed to continuous improvement. The feedback from the mid-year reports not only helps students and parents understand current progress but also informs our teaching strategies and interventions for the remainder of the year.

Our goal is to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

Reports will be available in the last week of Term 2 through the Compass portal.

Warm regards
