Principal's Report

Rohan Cooper

Welcome to our final newsletter for Term 2. Despite this being the last fortnight of term, our school has remained as busy and productive as ever; we have worked hard all the way to the finish line!

Student Reports and Parent-Teacher Interviews

Last week, Semester One Progress Reports were shared with families. These are written with the intent of giving a clear overview of learning and wellbeing progress for all students. We follow this with the opportunity to meet with the classroom teacher of your child/ren. This feedback cycle is an important part of our overall learning and wellbeing program and I would be happy to hear further from you on the effectiveness of this (email your feedback here, or see me on the gates each morning and afternoon).

Parents’ Association and Fundraising Targets

With a huge thanks to event leaders Talli Brajtberg and Daelle Sachs, our ‘Winter Wonderland’ Student Disco was again a huge success. Talli and Daelle’s group of volunteers did a wonderful job of transforming our school hall into a winter-themed disco space, accompanied by a DJ, photo booth, face-painting and so much more. We are so fortunate to have such an active Parents’ Association, led by our brilliant President, Jess Tuszynski. Please ensure you read the PA Page in this edition to see our fundraising ‘temperature gauge’ as we work towards an upgrade of our senior playground.

School Review – Community Consultation

Thank you to the parents who engaged in the final call-out for feedback for our upcoming school review, both by way of attending the in-person session yesterday, or by completing the online survey (link here if you still haven’t completed it!). Your feedback has been critical in supporting us to complete the ‘pre-review self-evaluation’, providing us with direction for our new school vision and values (coming soon!) and helping to inform our new strategic direction, to be set after our review is complete in Term 4.

Annual Report

Again thank you to the parents who attended our annual report to community earlier this term. This is an important opportunity to hear from the school in terms of our performance in learning and wellbeing, as well as a summary of our financial performance. If your are interested in reading the report in full, please refer to this page on our (soon-to-be-updated!) school website.

2XU Wellness Run – Sign-up to the Caulfield South Primary School Team!

Our school has again entered a team for students, staff and families to complete the ‘2XU Wellness Run’ later this year. To join our team, click on the link here. Funds raised go towards Beyond Blue, in recognition of their service to those in need of mental health and wellbeing support.

Finally, I wish all students, staff and families are safe and enjoyable school holiday period. Thank you for your ongoing support and keep doing your best.
